Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is welcoming two new neurosurgeons to the health system’s First Physicians Group (FPG) network.
Ryan Diaz, MD, and John Souter, MD, are now accepting patients at FPG’s Neurosurgery and Spine Specialists.
Dr. Diaz and Dr. Souter are both board eligible and fellowship trained in Neurosurgery. They specialize in both cranial surgery for brain tumors, epilepsy, movement disorders, neurotrauma and traumatic brain injuries as well as spinal and peripheral nerve surgery including minimally invasive, complex spinal reconstructive, endoscopic and robotic procedures.
Dr. Diaz received his medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine, in Tallahassee, Florida. He completed his residency in neurosurgery at Louisiana State University Health in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he also completed his fellowship in stereotactic, functional, and epilepsy neurosurgery.
Dr. Souter received his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago – Stritch School of Medicine. He completed both his residency in neurosurgery and fellowship in complex spine surgery at the University of Illinois in Chicago, Illinois.
