Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is pleased to welcome a new obstetrician-gynecologist and maternal-fetal medicine specialist to the health system’s First Physicians Group (FPG) network.
Stephanie Rodriguez, MD, FACOG, is now accepting patients at FPG’s Maternal-Fetal Medicine practice at Hillview.
Dr. Rodriguez is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and board-eligible in maternal-fetal medicine. She is experienced in high-risk pregnancy management, including maternal medical disease during pregnancy, advanced maternal age, multiple gestation, fetal anomalies, abnormal fetal growth, genetic and chromosomal disorders. She performs cervical cerclage and provides advanced imaging and testing including advanced fetal ultrasound and obstetric imaging, fetal echocardiography, amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling. She co-manages high-risk pregnancies along with each patient’s primary obstetrician to tailor a plan of care specific to medical needs – including preconception and prenatal counseling/screening. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
Dr. Rodriguez received her medical degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in the Dominican Republic. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai-BronxCare Health System in New York City. Her fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine was completed at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, where she received multiple distinctions, including the Stritch School of Medicine Teaching Award in September 2024. She has been a recognized speaker in various international meetings, including the 73rd Annual Scientific Meeting of the Society for Reproductive Investigation.
