Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is welcoming a new board-certified Clinical & Advanced Cardiac Imaging Cardiologist to the health system’s First Physicians Group (FPG) network.
Angel De La Cruz Tejada, MD, FACC, will be accepting patients at the FPG Interventional and Diagnostic Cardiology practice at the Venice Medical Office Building.
Dr. De La Cruz Tejada is fellowship-trained in cardiovascular disease and in advanced cardiac imaging. He specializes in diagnosing and treating heart and vascular disease, coronary artery disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, pericardial disease and rhythm disorders including arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation. He performs a wide range of cardiovascular imaging tests including transthoracic, transesophageal and stress echocardiography, nuclear stress testing, coronary artery calcium scoring, and advanced modalities such as cardiac CT and cardiac MRI.
Dr. De La Cruz Tejada received his medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in the Dominican Republic. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai-BronxCare Health System in New York City. He completed his Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai-Mount Sinai Morningside/BronxCare Health System in New York City. He then completed an Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship at the University of Chicago. His board certifications include the American Board of Internal Medicine, National Board of Echocardiography, Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology, Certification Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, and Certification Board of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
