Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is proud to welcome a new physiatrist to the health system’s First Physicians Group (FPG) network of physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians.
Akhil Golla, MD, is a physiatrist specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He provides inpatient rehabilitation care for patients admitted to Sarasota Memorial’s Rehabilitation Pavilion. He designs comprehensive, patient-centered rehabilitation plans for a variety of orthopedic and musculoskeletal injuries, joint replacements and fractures, brain and spinal cord injuries, and neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis, stroke and Parkinson’s. His specialties also include cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, spasticity management, and rehabilitation for cancer-related conditions.
Dr. Golla received his medical degree from Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in Camden, New Jersey. He completed his internship and residency at the Jefferson Moss McGee Rehabilitation Hospital in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania.
